Provides customers with access to 100 times higher capacity
Updated technology and hardware will provide GlobalConnect customers with access to 100 times higher capacity in a new fibre network covering large parts of Northern Europe.
The new network will connect all major Northern European cities, large datacentres and global network hubs. Up to 100 times higher capacity through the most robust and modern network in the market and customer speeds reaching 400Gbit/s as well as delivery time as low as a few days instead of months.
These are some of the significant advantages that GlobalConnect can now offer their customers as a result of a comprehensive update and expansion of their fibre network. It will be built as a mesh network with a technology that makes customer traffic more resistant to crashes and ensures the shortest transport route for minimal latency. GlobalConnect has chosen Nokia to deliver their most advanced optical technology developed by Nokia Bell Labs.
”By expanding and upgrading the network, we will be able to provide our clients with new opportunities in the shape of lightning-fast connections, a high level of security, great flexibility with a minimum of three independent connections between major cities and up to 100 times higher capacity, which can be expanded even further. This is truly a network built for the future and a milestone when it comes to offering our customers – from small businesses to hyperscalers – end-to-end solutions across Northern Europe,” says Martin Lippert, CEO of GlobalConnect.
The upgrade and expansion of the network has begun, and the first clients are already connected. Nokia and GlobalConnect expect the large-scale project to be finished by summer.
