Digital infrastructure provider GlobalConnect Group has appointed Johanna Olesen as its new Sustainability Manager. She has more than 15 years of experience working with sustainability efforts and innovation in the industry and energy sector, most recently joining from Swedish Öresundskraft.

The recruitment of Johanna is part of GlobalConnect Group’s sustainability strategy, set in 2020 and is based on UN’s global targets for sustainable development, Agenda 2030. The company’s priorities are reducing digital inequalities by further connecting the Nordics with fiber-based infrastructure, reducing its carbon emissions and improving GlobalConnect’s diversity and equality agenda.

“I’m very happy to join GlobalConnect and lead our Pan Nordic sustainability efforts. Access to robust and reliable fiber-based broadband has been important to keep critical infrastructure going during the pandemic. It has also been a prerequisite for speeding up the digitalization of the entire society, resulting in this digital integrated everyday lifestyle we now lead. Going forward we will make sure everyone in the Nordics has access to high-speed internet services”, says Johanna Olesen, Sustainability Manager, GlobalConnect Group.
