GlobalConnect grows customer base and signs major Nordic deals in Q3

In the third quarter 2022, GlobalConnect Group continued to grow its FTTH (fiber-to-the-home)customer base and won several new deals throughout the Nordics. New enterprise customers such as Nordic app restaurant Pinchos, Viken county in Norway and Silvan in Denmark decided to join GlobalConnect. The group’s FTTH customer base grew in all markets, now amounting to 713, 000, cementing GlobalConnect’s position as one of Europe’s fastest growing digital infrastructure providers. “We saw good momentum throughout the group in yet another quarter, signing major deals in all markets – growing our customer base and expanding our FTTH footprint. The need for connectivity and IT security services continue to grow despite times of uncertainty, and I’m confident that we are strongly positioned to leverage that demand in all markets”, says Martin Lippert, Group CEO, GlobalConnect.
Key achievement in third quarter, 2022
- “App restaurant” Pinchos signed a long-term Nordic agreement with GlobalConnect to provide a range of IT solutions, enabling Pinchos to ensure and streamline network communication throughout the chain’s operations in the Nordics. GlobalConnect will provide Pinchos with SD-Wan through fiber, back-up by 4G and Managed-LAN in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland.
- More than 10, 0000 Swedish households were connected with fiberoptic broadband during the quarter, and since the acquisition of Open Universe, another milestone was reached as the first large migration of 4, 800 households in Trelleborg was conducted successfully.
- GlobalConnect successfully raised EUR 1 billion new ESG linked financing to help continue its growth journey. Sustainability incentives were introduced with the new facilities, with the effect of lowered interest rate margin upon meeting targets for predetermined sustainability KPIs.
- GlobalConnect Norway signed several public sector deals, including Viken county. GlobalConnect will deliver fiber and network services to the largest county in the country, consisting of 180 locations and 1.2 million residents throughout the region. GlobalConnect will deliver connectivity services supporting the region’s schools regional development and planning, culture, transport, public health work and dental services. The agreement covers all 75, 000 employees and students in the region.
- The Norwegian Communications Authority (NKOM), recently announced its half-year figures, showing that GlobalConnect had the highest growth in private fiber customers in Norway the first six months of 2022. In addition, the milestone of connecting 100, 000 customers was reached in Norway during the quarter.
- GlobalConnect Denmark signed a deal with Silvan, a construction market chain, to deliver datacom and M-LAN Services for 43 locations, including its head office. As a geographically spread-out retail chain, Silvan is dependent on a secure and stable network at all its locations across Denmark.
- GlobalConnect Germany as signed a deal with HADAG, a subsidiary of transport company Hamburger Hochbahn AG, operating all ferry services in Hamburg. GlobalConnect will deliver a fiber connection with 500 Mbit/s during the contract period of 60 months. GlobalConnect Germany’s reputation and robust its reliable network was one of the main factors it was selected.
