Statement and status regarding current energy supply in Northern Europe

Northern European digital infrastructure and connectivity provider GlobalConnect follows the energy development across all its operating markets very closely, and has a structured plan to handle potential so called “Brownouts”, which are used for load reduction in an emergency to prevent a total grid power outage due to high demand. GlobalConnect does not expect that any of its obligations and deliveries will be affected by the risk of brownouts, as these situations are handled through its normal emergency supply and preparedness.
To ensure an effective contingency plan, GlobalConnect has among other things:
- Secured the readiness of diesel generators.
- Had extra follow-up at technical facilities, including system and maintenance status, as well as reviewing fuel supply contingency agreements.
- Revisited information channels with local network operators to ensure immediate notifications of potential controlled brownouts.
- Set up alternative communication systems to ensure independence from local mobile operators and networks, to maintain preparedness in the event of local Brownouts.
- An ongoing and tight dialogue with local authorities, local regulating bodies, and industry colleagues.
